Especially since I can relate to the time period being invested in here...I'm an older gamer who was occupied with other diversions when the "golden age" of all video game rules were apparently being formulated and enshrined at gaming forums on the web. I also think your wait and see policy is sound, though I may be roped into the Xbox 360 experiment precisely because I've found another group of similar gamers who play online...hooked to one another through the convenience of their Live service.
