I disagree with this article. I am on my second playthrough of Shadow and I feel the need to say that the graphics in this game are some of the best I've seen, rivaling games such as Ninja Gaiden or The Chronicles of Riddick. I also have never noticed any large loss of detail when riding Agro (the horse). If you are using something like progressive scan, try turning that off and seeing if that helps.

And it would be illegal; in some countries because it could be used to control nuclear weapons (as if you would trust nuclear weapons to a PS2).

Funny, I never did see the 'launch unclear warheads' button anywhere on the controller...

I think Penny Arcade's "bullshot" neologism really sums it up best; ye gods, I remember when the PS2 came out and there were all these dementoid stories about how powerful it was s'posed to be. Like it couldn't be exported to China 'cos it would violate supercomputing rules or crud like that.

Me, I'm passing on the PS3 because XBox Live is the Right Thing. Yes, I grant you that I haven't used my Live subscription for most of a year because WoW kicks its ass, but it's still the Right Thing, and why the XBox 360 will be my next gratuitous purchase.

But yes -- SotC is a wonderful example of just how far you can't push the PS2. The stones -- oh god the stones.
