And the great bit is that if the input is not hooked to something, it is receiving electronic noise whereas when it is hooked up your inputs are properly terminated. So the noise you are seeing in the dark not hooked up __does__not__exist__ when you are watching something. I suppose if you were really worried you could terminate the unused inputs but I suspect that having a single input connected wipes out the problem.

Speaking as a man who has weathered the storm of imperfection on a standard CRT widescreen TV which cost both an arm and a leg (The leg was in dropping 55Kgs onto a left foot, so can be argued is not directly Philips' fault) - I sympathise.

I'd love to advertise my tale of woe, but the capacity to resist our base urges is what differentiates us from TV Repair men.

I wish you great high-definition widescreen joy =)

Yeah, I was perfectly happy with my HTIB solution until I read some reviews of it. Now for some reason the bass always sounds a bit funny to me. Stupid internet. :)

Then there is the brand of OCD that is where someone buys something, is very happy with the equipment but something still makes them search forums for anonymous strangers feedback on that device.
