I hated Halo 2 for the fact it had a gutless single-player and sterile-but-solid multiplayer. Halo 3 brings more to the table, and if you're going to do a feature on it...well, instead of being so obviously counter-culture, play it and rip it to shreds. Pick it apart for the nitty-gritty! Weapon balance is close to perfect and had none of the connection problems you describe. I love it. Sorry. Weapon balance is close to perfect and had none of the connection problems you describe.

Logged in through Crackdown as well, waited for friend to finish up his first game to party with him. We entered the Rumble Training playlist to start. Died many times in a game of shotguns and snipers while I relearned how to play Halo with new controls. Then 2 oddball games, 1 pitiful and one that I won (?!). Finally 3 slayer games where the two other people were working together. With that "team" practice, we decided to switch to the slightly more official Team Training (in which people talk less) where we played a Team oddball that ended with something like 2 minutes (them) to 10 seconds (us), then a 1 flag CTF game. After which (and this is a little over an hour into the game) I found myself thinking of the other fun games I could be playing. After another match of three (us) on four due to someone dropping out at the very start of a King of the Hill game and winning, my friend agreed and we logged off to "do something interesting". I haven't played since. So of the five days I've had access to beta, I've played about an hour and a half. You can color me slightly more impressed than your unimpressed.
