My parents have been trying to get small plants to grow between the flagstones of their walk, to hold them in place and to look nice. Perhaps they're trying with the wrong plants. But I like the idea of planting something you like there. Couldn't hurt, right? So funny to hear you complain about this. You go out there and clean up your yard, and a week later you have to go back out there and clean up your yard. I can't think of anything less rewarding to do. Load the cracks with Corsican mint, Elfin Thyme, or some other plant that will out-compete the weeds and yet offer something pleasant in exchange for its new home. Fight Nature _with_ Nature! Fairly easy if you have a propane heater, and no pesticide residue either. You also get to drink the beer, possibly with your now more friendly neighbors. For Gaia! Can’t you find some of these people, and convince them or their children weed your walkway? For Gaia!
