hehe, I love Item world. I GET LOST IN IT SO MUCH, A WHOLE WEEK COULD GO BY AND I WOULDN'T NOTICE. 8D Seriously, it deprives me of sleep.

I like surprising people by lending them this game. I tell them, "Oh, it's a strategy-RPG with a really quirky storyling." And they're all, "Oh yeah? I'll play it tonight."

Then the next day, they come back with rings under their eyes, saying: "aihaodihgteft that was the awesomest random dungeon I've ever played I want this game for my own akhgoriahnvlcxk" and wander off zombie-like into their class courses.

[...] Need better stuff? Travel through the item world and level your stuff up. This will also generally result in more levels for your characters too. [...]

[...] On a purely technical level, it is a “better game” than its progenitor (which I initially discussed last month). The same basic turn-based game mechanics from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness are carried forward, but everything has been supercharged to be even more ridiculous. Characters level up faster. There are more optional areas and “extra stages,” and new mechanics have been piled on top of the old ones. I’m nearly done with the main story, and it is already apparent to me that this only covers perhaps a tenth of what the game has to offer. You could play Disgaea 2 for a year and still not have time for anything else. [...]

I am a huge turn based RPG/Strategy fan and I came to Disgaea after completing Final Fantasy Tactics and Jeanne d'Arc on the PSP (purchased expressly for FFT). My experience matched yours exactly, even down to only creating a handful of characters! Suddenly something clicks and it makes sense, and what is great is that it dawns on you naturally, instead of reading about it in a FAQ or suchlike. I also like the way the story teases you by messing with the conventions of these type of games. Clearly a game written by gamers for gamers!

Afternoon of Darkness? Really? That's about the most un-menacing name in history. In fact, I feel anti-menaced right now. I'm going to go for a walk in the park!

Yeah; the core story in Disgaea is something you play through once, then you discover that it's a complete distraction from finding out just how obscene you can make your character. So that eventually you end up with This in Disgaea 2.

Yes, that is 6.6 Billion points of damage. People have reached higher.

> Wow. I should start playing Disgaea 2 on the PS2. That looks totally cool.
