I was surprised that there was no badass end boss for some reason though. And realistically, why would there be? But I so expected a fight I could hardly finish and possibly gave up on. The game itself was a much needed diversion for a week though and well worth the ever-growing price of a console game! I loved the game, (and loved Fallout 1 & 2 and Oblivion). I guess you must have your Andy Warhole museum there, That must be where the secret fraction of ghoul-pride antagonists derive from. Bethesda just published Call of Cthulhu, they did not develop it. I'm personally loving Fallout 3, especially as I now live in DC. The Metro areas may be repetetive, but they're almost spot-on compared to the real thing. The main difference is that the real Metro doesn't have bathrooms. Or ghouls. I do have some problems with the world design, but mostly in that I think it's still too devastated. It's been 200 years for the apocalypse, why can't people take the dessicated corpses out of their bedrooms? I am also eagerly awaiting the Pittsburgh expansion pack. There's a sizable contingent of CMU people on the dev and art teams, I can't wait to see what they did to the city. Re: Drowlord. Bethesda just published Call of Cthulhu, they did not develop it.

And, while there were things about it I thought were pointless (the dog, your family, the economy) and about a million class C bugs, by the time I realised I'd hit the 30-hour mark, I couldn't deny that I'd enjoyed it more than any other game this year. Yes, there were still things I didn't like about it, but I wouldn't dream of complaining about them because if they bothered me that much I'd not have played it for so long! However, I did play Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth a little (a Bethesda title), and I didn't like it. I was hungry for the storyline, but the first-person role playing interface was so annoying that it eventually bludgeoned my curiosity into apathy. I'm told by reliable sources that it's about the same as Oblivion. And everyone says that Fallout 3 is basically Oblivion. I should probably try more than one title in the first-person RPG genre before passing judgment -- and specifically a popular one -- but my CoC:DCotE experience was pretty annoying. I think that I just prefer the 3rd-person RPG interface that most real-time RPG games seem to use. For that matter, I prefer the 3rd-person camera view for racing games, too. Its original (you don't save the world - it's already screwed of course). Instead you get to build a water purifier together with your dad. That’s nice I think... The scenery is truly spectacular still the overall design doesn't seem too clever. The landscape quickly gets repetitive in my opinion - even more than in Oblivion. When I played Oblivion I remember wishing the landscape designers had looked to the less famous Gothic 2. Here you have a truly mysterious playing field obtained with much lesser means. You could walk past the same spot several times without discovering a hidden cave entrance. Gothic 2 was filled with hidden paths and strange landscapes that made use of all 3 dimensions, rendering the playing field a truly adventurous one. Anyway this is not the case in Fallout 3 and somebody might argue that a post-nucelar landscape doesn't have to be mysterious. Still Fallout 3 is an amazing game with its overload of content and many side quests. I have played it through one and I don't think I'll wait for the extension pack before I pick it up again. "This game is a total waste of time. The first 47 areas range from pretty good to awesome, but the last 3 bosses are just rehashes of things we've seen before." So 47/50 isn't the equivalent of an "A"? I can only assume that these people have binary/bipolar emotional response. They are either totally good or totally bad, on or off. Gray areas are for wussies. I’ve observed this mental (I assume, rather than metal) disease over and over and OVER with not just the l33t, but game reviewers. “This game is a total waste of time.
