I figure I will eventually get a pass here because in a few years the Patriots will go back to their anonymous mediocrity and I won't have to worry about them anymore. I followed the Pats pretty loyally until I got into college and graduate school and didn't really have time to follow any football at all. Then I had a period where I just wasn't that interested in any team, but moved to Pittsburgh and so had to at least pay attention a little bit. Later on I got more serious about it around the time Bledsoe got hit in that Jets game, although I still didn't realize the Patriots made a run in the playoffs that year until they played Pittsburgh. It is of course impossible to live in Pittsburgh and not root for the Stillers in one way or another. I just pray that they never meet NE in another playoff game. That always sucks. Read the intro, and section on Loyalties here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/020227 Also note that I'm only posting this because I am incredibly jealous of the success of both the Steelers and the Patriots.
