It's also important to note that we have to design bags that fit the market we aim at - i do think this is where a lot of designers go wrong - they tend to stray and loose touch with their market and brand. Pen holders and card slots are common requests within organizer panels in briefcases - we often put velcro on the back so they can be removed if not needed- best of both worlds! I am currently working on some new laptop bags which should be coming out at Christmas. I will cetainly make a few notes on your issues - good luck with your search! Always best to really think things out before making a purchase. The biggest mistake I've made purchasing bags is to think about what I may need to carry, instead of what I normally carry. I read a good blog entry today using Ebola and HIV as metaphors. The former kills quickly and more horrifically, but less people in total as its gruesome and immediate symptoms scare potential victims away, whereas after initial flu- and cold-like symptoms, HIV isn't outwardly visible to other potential victims, and thus claims more lives. When I can't fit everything I'd like to in a bag, I remember it and consider buying a bigger bag, but I'm less likely to associate the distributed costs of carrying too large a bag around most days when it isn't filled. I've since changed to the Filson original briefcase, which is only 16" x "12.5" x 4" and on most days, is near full. I dig your process. So now we'll find out if I actually liked it, or if I've been lying to myself. I predict B, since past me doesn't have a good track record.
