It's a classy touch similar to (but even better than) the transferable licenses offered for Valve games you already owned when you purchased Orange Box. I wanted to get into a pedantic nerdfight over whether without BSD there'd really be no Linux (even 'without Mach there'd be no OS X' is tenuous at best. Tenuous, I say!) but it's surprisingly hard to muster any enthusiasm for it given 1. and 2. and 3. Well played, Valve.
