Ughkkies. However I have to disagree that for cooking, Shaoxing has the right taste and sherry just doesnt. And furthermore, when I buy shaoxing its in a big ugly bottle (usually poland spring quality PET) with a peel back lid and a little squeezy hole for squirting in large quantities. The nice thing about Shaoxing is that it has so little complexity so you can use a lot of it at high heat and when it evaporates it only adds that background chin-eezee flavor. shaoxing for drinking?
