The meat is not cooked all the way at that stage. 2. You will put it back in the pan and cook it some more after. 3. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. But it's always worked for me. 1. Really? Put the cooked steak back into the same bowl that held raw steak and marinade 5 minutes ago? “At this point pick up the pan and toss the meat back into the mixing bowl.”

The better quality sake, the more rice-outside is sloughed off. This for taste though, I think, so probably not related, but I dunno. that reminds me that rice for sake is “polished” before it’s used to make sake. Makes the resulting texture more pleasing and cleaner. I have noticed this when I remember to do it. But since I'm a bad person, I sometimes forget. I dunno that the washing is _sacred_, per se, just kinda part of the preparation. also not a snark — I honestly thought it was to, you know, wash it clean. I know it's an Asian versus American thing (Asians do, and it's sacrilege not to; Americans don't and most don't even know that it's something that anyone might do). The sentence was missing several connecting "or" words which are very important. Sorry about that. Editor’s note: I just fixed an important typo here up in the list of wines to add to the marinade. And the manual will tell them to wash the rice and which line to use when filling the bowl with water. In my experience rice cookers are pretty forgiving. I'm not even being that snarky -- are they going to know to wash the rice (and how to do it), or the amount of water to use (do most cookers even come with instruction manuals to specify? are they accurate? for what kinds of rice?). note that you also didn't clear up why the stir-fry itself didn't cost her $84. I'm just saying, if she thought the food scale was a one-use disposable model, you really need to spell it all out a lot better than you already have. if someone has trouble with buying mushrooms, they’re definitely not going to be able to operate a rice cooker without highly detailed instructions.
