Berry Alert
by peterbThe first ripe wild black raspberries (rubus occidentalis) of the season have been spotted.
And eaten.

Posted by sarah at June 27, 2005 11:07 AMWhere do you find them around here?
Posted by Julie Watt at June 27, 2005 11:56 AMThere are a few berry farms that do pick-your-own, but there aren't any immediately convenient to Pittsburgh. It's approximately correct to assume that if I'm talking about black raspberries, I'm talking about wild ones that you find growing in someone's yard or along the side of the road.
Mine I get from my yard: http://www.tgr.com/weblog/archives/000110.html
