Happy Birthday, Scoble

by peterb

Just a quick note to say happy birthday to Robert Scoble who is 41 today, and whom I met tonight at the Pittsburgh Blogfest. A splendid time was had by all. Drinks were drunk, cake was eaten, and Cindy from My Brilliant Mistakes and I have an evil plan for holding a panel tasting of bourbon. Stay tuned.

Wow, you're fast! I just walked in the door myself. The party was continuing on when I left, so it looks like our friend Scoble is indeed having a good bday.

I'm totally in on the bourbon panel1

I had a great birthday, thanks!

Oh, and I'm TOTALLY up for this bourbon panel!

I'm just wondering if I am still needed to be the comic relief, now that it's bourbon and not scotch.

This bourbon panel is getting bigger by the minute. Excellent.

Vanessa, you are strictly required to participate. No excuse will be accepted.

Peterb, did you end up at Aldo Coffee, as did some other attendees?

Aldo is, IMHO, the most reliable place in Pittsburgh to get good espresso. Given your stated preference for La Prima, I was wondering if you now had second thoughts. ;-)

Cheers. --Tom

I have not, in fact, tried Aldo yet. But I'll give it a whirl soon.

I'm up for the bourbon panel. Sounds like we may all need to contribute glassware!

I have tried the big red A, and find it ok, but a little too Star-bucky. The pressed chai is a little strange too. They also close too early on the weekend, 4 and 3pm.

Wander down the street, through the Twisty Little Passages, to the Vault, 3916 California Ave. PG review: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05234/557817.stm

The foam is better at La Prima, but I like the Vaults expresso better.

They may even have tasty, but expensive, fair trade stuff.

Bourbon is fantastic but why you have to congratulate the most self congratulatory shill/apologist on the whole damn internet is beyond me.

You mean you didn't get your free Xbox 360? Oops, I HAVE SAID TOO MUCH.
