No Sense of Humor '06

by peterb

Once again, Tea Leaves is proud to be one of the few sites on the web that doesn't have a stupid and irritating April Fools' joke.

I say "Bah, humbug!" and I'm proud to do so.

Well I thank you for that. I doubt it will make up for the mess that slashdot is now or webcomics claiming to shut down or any other ideas from sites with humor, but it is appreciated :).

The internet has completely ruined April Fool's. The day is about pranks: salt in the sugar bowl, wearing fake casts to school, putting all the drawers in someone's desk upside down...

Now it's just an endless stream of fake press releases, fake products, and fake blog posts. Oh, my how clever.

I now dread the day. Damn you Slashdot!

I figured yesterday's post about good food at a chain restaurant was close enough!

But darling -- Don't you wanna make us laugh? Pranks aren't necessary -- but humor would be nice -- along with a few posts about coffee or alcohol...

Hmmm. It -has- been a while since we've had a good booze-related post, hasn't it?

Part of the problem is that we've wanted to do a bourbon-tasting boozetravaganza with Cynthia from _My Brilliant Mistakes_, but haven't been able to find a good bar with a great bourbon selection. Anyone have any suggestions?
