It's not that all is wine and roses with Earthbound - it still has the traditional Japanese RPG "save point" system, so you can still end up going retrograde on occasion. But this, in my mind, is solvable by playing on an emulator with freeze/defrost support. @Paul – You ain’t kiddin’.
