Yesterday’s article by psu about the importance of only showing your best photos really struck a note with me. That’s why I have added a Tea Leaves™ Decisive Moments™ photostream to the sidebar. This will let us subject you to unedited garbage share the immediacy of our vision with you.
First up: three weeks of cat pictures. Tally-ho!
For now, I’m using Flickr to host the pictures, until I find enough free time to write a proper template hosted at tleaves.com. Overall, flickr hasn’t impressed me. As my friend Alex said, “It seems like the sort of thing that joshua would do in an afternoon, only he’d do it better.”
Don’t hate on Flickr. It rocks.
What I actually want is a photo service that, like del.icio.us, only manages the metadata. I already have my own storage, so I don’t need flickr or it’s paltry 20Mb or whatever upload limit.
In other words, I want to be able to put my photo somewhere on the web, and then tell some service “Here is the URL to the photo. Here are some tags.” I want that service to give me searchability on my (and other people’s) stuff, and neat little bookmarklets and badges and stuff that I can include in other web pages. Don’t ask me how they’d make money. I dunno.
Also, I want a pony.
