Every so often, when I have forgotten the answers to the puzzles, I haul out The Fool’s Errand and 3 In Three and play them again. Apart from one or two irritating twitch puzzles, these games are firmly on my “best ever” list. I’m another one of those True Believer fools who parted with money, and like you, I’m not expecting it to ever bring any returns.

I’ll second the DROD recommendation. The puzzles are tough but generally solvable. Get the JTRH demo (http://www.caravelgames.com/Articles/Games_2/JtRH.html) and enjoy.
I don’t know what to think of a magazine that offers unreserved recommendations of a title with with a huge gamebreaking bug and a mix of lesser but still tangible glitches (bubble bobble revolution). Is the review based on an import or something?
