TellTale has released the demo for the first game in Season 2 of their Sam and Max adventure games: Ice Station Santa. A full review will be forthcoming, but let me just say this: if you own a PC that you play games on you must buy Sam and Max. It is more than just a good idea. It is a moral imperative.
Just finished it this morning. Sam & Max does episodic gaming right. This is a very compelling reason to get GameTap (or in my case, keep it around). It’s too bad that we have to wait until the new year for more goodness from Telltale.
Since you enjoyed this game, I hold you personally responsible for the publisher’s missteps: The demo would not run because the copy protection didn’t like the “top” program I ran. It insisted that I reboot and not run such dangerous software again.
The copy protection. On a demo.
I am so mad about this that I’m going to post a comment on a blog. The entire gaming industry will now have no choice but to bend to my will.
Wow. That’s…completely hateful.
I don’t blame you for being angry. So what we’ve learned from this is that Telltale has brilliant writers, artists and programmers, and also somewhere someone making decisions about copy protection who is, apparently, an idiot.
The demo is also the unlockable full game, which is why it’s protected.
