Same pitch perfect Harmonix gameplay. But this is by far the best music collected into a Rock Band or Guitar Hero game. They will never make another fake guitar game with a higher hit ratio, because honestly, there is no better pop music than The Beatles. That is all.
HIGHLY disappointed by the mashup version of “Tomorrow Never Knows”.
…if what you like is to play a collection of some of the Beatles’ worst songs…
Absolutely: best plastic music game since the first GH. Good drummers may feel somewhat under-challenged, but this is probably balanced by the interesting, solid bass lines.
i like the beatles (moved on, but i’ll always have a place for them). i love rock band – drums or singing. one of the key features for me in rock band is the ability to adjust the levels of the instruments being played versus the instruments that the game is covering. since i play the drums by myself a lot, i adjust the audio so the drums stand out – rather like they would if one were sitting behind a real drum kit.
in beatles rock band, the only adjustment one can make to the “mix” is to lower the vocals (and even then only somewhat). the result is that drumming is less visceral – the connection between what i’m doing with the drum kit and what is coming out of the speakers is greatly diminished. it’s rather like turning the game off, playing a trippy sgt. pepper video, and beating on some rubber pads. (but that’s what rock band is! ha ha, i get it.)
the result is that for me b:rb is mainly a singing game, and not a bad one at all.
